Israel shuts Allenby Bridge Crossing to Jordan after shooting kills two soldiers 

19/09/2025 : israel has closed the Allenby Bridge crossing, the only gateway linking the occupied West Bank to Jordan, following an attack on Thursday in which a Jordanian aid truck driver opened fire and killed two Israeli soldiers.

The Israeli Airports Authority, which oversees the crossing, said the terminal would remain shut until further notice.

Other crossings with Jordan were also affected. The Jordan River crossing in the north was sealed, while the Rabin crossing in the south stayed open solely for workers.

The Allenby Bridge is a vital trade route with Jordan and the only passage available to more than 3 million Palestinians in the West Bank to travel abroad. No group has claimed responsibility for the shooting.
